WHY DID I START THIS WEBSITE?

I started this website in response to the tons of negative publicity that has been brought onto the Greek community at San Diego State University due to a huge DEA drug bust that took place on Tuesday May 6th. Of the many students arrested at SDSU, a select few were involved in fraternities on campus.

Needless to say, the entire international media from multiple countries jumped on the opportunity to point out the flaws of "Frats" and basically pinned a lot of the blame of the drug situation at SDSU onto the "Frats". A conclusion like that is just sad and really disappointing!

WHERE IS THE MEDIA WHEN GREEKS DO GREAT THINGS?

The answer to this question is...NOWWHERE! The media doesn't emphasize or show lots of support for the positive things that Greeks do simply because that type of story is not a sellable product for the news channels.  Controversy sells in this nation, and Greeks doing bad things is quite a controversy.

  • The media is at SDSU right now because a crime was committed and Greeks have been connected to it in one way or another
  • The media will not be at SDSU next time the Greeks pull together another $60,000 to donate to the Wheelchair foundation
  • The media will not be at SDSU the next time we mobilize a fraternity to volunteer and the annual walk for Autism
  • The media will not be there in full force next time Greeks are doing something positive

I wrote an article on another website I manage (click here) about the event at SDSU. There were over 7000 visitors from around the entire country in the first 48 hours that the article was online. People from all over the world read the article and numerous people commented on the article in support of the great things that fraternities and sororities have done.
